The Lost Ark

Some people’s only knowledge about the Ark of the Covenant comes from a Hollywood movie about a renowned archeologist named Indiana Jones. I’m from Indiana and my name is Jones, but I first learned about the Ark by reading the Bible’s Old Testament.

 

In the most holy place of the tabernacle was a small box made of wood and overlaid with gold. The lid or mercy seat was entirely pure gold with two cherubim on top facing each other. Between the angels, the Lord appeared in Shekinah glory (Exodus 25:10-22). 

 

In Tinsel Town, raiders went looking for a lost Ark. But in reality, there’s nothing lost when it comes to God’s intention to show repentant sinners His mercy.
