Have you heard this one before? “If you find a perfect church, don’t join it! The moment you do, it becomes imperfect.” No church is perfect because all churches consist of sinful, selfish, and imperfect people who, at best, are merely sinners saved by God’s grace. Only Jesus, the head of the church, is a perfect Savior.

An early church in an ancient city called Philadelphia came close to perfect. Jesus had nothing bad to say about them. Instead, He poured words of praise on them by saying, “You have kept my word and have not denied my name” (Revelation 3:8).

Even churches with imperfect people can be found faithful. If you find a faithful church, join it and faithfully serve their gospel mission.
