Give to God first. Pay yourself second. Live off the rest. I call it the 10-10-80 financial plan. I know it works because it’s based on biblical financial principles. I also know it works because we’ve managed our family finances that way for nearly twenty years.

When we honor God first with money, he takes care of us. It’s that simple. Frankly, God is able to do more with 90 percent of our household income than we can do with 100 percent of it. He has proven himself faithful over and over again in our family finances.

So give 10-10-80 a try. What have you got to lose? You might have everything to gain.
