Sin, Sickness, and Suffering
He had never seen a blue sky or green grass or an ocean at sunset. He never looked upon a rainbow, or a meadow full of wild flowers, or into the face of his parents. He was born blind (John 9:1-41).
“Who sinned,” the disciples ask Jesus, “this man or his parents?” Their question reflects a narrow theology, one that says all sickness is a result of personal sin. “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” Jesus answered. He expands our understanding of sin, sickness and suffering, and how God operates in this world.
Do you need answers for the pain and suffering you’re experiencing? Do you need a miracle? Your best and only hope is Jesus Messiah.
