In war, knowing your enemy is essential to military victory on the battlefield. When it comes to spiritual warfare, we must also know our enemy well enough to predict his next move. Is it possible to remain two steps ahead of the devil? It is if you know your enemy’s war plans.

To the Ephesians, Paul writes, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (6:11). Likewise, to the Corinthians, he writes, “For we are not ignorant of the schemes of the devil” (2 Corinthians 2:11). The word translated “schemes” refers to the devil’s war strategies.

Are you ignorant of the devil’s schemes? If you are, you are easy prey for the enemy of your soul.
