The apostle Paul’s desire for the Colossians was that they were “rooted and built up in [Christ] and established in the faith” (Colossians 2:6-7). Is your faith in Christ deeply rooted?

A deeply rooted faith in Christ will steady you in trials, sustain you in difficult seasons, and nourish your spiritual growth. It will also protect your mind against those who desire to kidnap your thoughts with worldly philosophies and deceitful human traditions like secular humanism, moral relativism, Darwinian evolution, and the sexual revolution (2:8).

One way to grow the deep roots of faith is to embrace your new identity in Christ, which words like complete, sanctified, alive, acquitted, and victorious describe.
