Faith In What or Who?
The Bible says, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). But faith in what or who? Oprah says she has faith, but faith in human nature is not biblical faith, nor is faith in faith.
Some people have faith in medical science. I am not against medical science. Doctors are heroic. And if my child is ill, I want the best medical care available today. But even medical science has its limitations.
Biblical faith has an object. The question is always, "Faith in what or who?" The faith that gets God’s attention, pleases Him, and ultimately saves us from the penalty of sin is the kind of faith that always has Jesus as its object.
