Jesus wrote to the church in Sardis, saying, “I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead” (Revelation 3:1).

The New Testament uses the word “dead” to describe the spiritual condition of persons who are not spiritually alive by faith in Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul, for example, writes to the Ephesians, “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you once walked” (Ephesians 2:1), reminding them of their life before they met Jesus.

Are you attending a dead church? Are you among the walking dead? Or are you born again believer in Jesus Christ? A dead church is a place full of Christians in name only. It is also a place where the Holy Spirit is not welcome and Spirit-filled leaders are absent.
