Carried Along by the Holy Spirit
“No prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:19-21).
Carried along by the Holy Spirit? Picture the wind filling a boat’s sail and carrying it along in the water. That is how the Apostle Peter experienced the divine-human process involving the Holy Spirit, who inspired him and others to write according to the will of God, not man.
Are you growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ? Because Peter and others were carried along by the Holy Spirit when they wrote God’s word, you don’t have to be carried along by the sway of false teachers.
