A Gospel Marriage · Something Good Radio

Your marriage is not primarily about you and your happiness. Sorry to bust your bubble, but your marriage is first a gospel presentation. The Bible says regarding marriage, “This mystery is profound and … refers to Christ and the church” (Ephesians 5:32).

In Christian marriage, husbands and wives have distinct roles to play. The wife demonstrates what it looks like for the bride of Christ, the church, to willingly submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by the way she willingly respects her husband’s leadership. Likewise, a husband, by the way he lavishly loves his wife, demonstrates what it looks like when Christ gave Himself for His bride, the church (Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19).

When your marriage is all about the gospel, everything else falls into place.
